We Made it!

We had a very successful trip to Boston to spend Thanksgiving with Cheryl and Adam. Yes maybe we were dreading it a little bit (2 days in the car each way). You would be crazy if you weren't right. We looked at plane tickets a couple of times but once you get there you have to drag 2 car seats still need to rent a car don't have a high chair and have to deal with Thanksgiving travel. So we thought we would at least give it a try. Jeff and I decided we made a great decision in getting the van with the DVD player. Katelyn watched movies almost the ENTIRE drive. And Luke did amazingly well too. Jeff had the awesome idea of bringing grill tongs in order to reach the things like buddies (pacis) that Luke threw in the car. They were great.

We had lots of fun with Auntie Cheryl. We made a trip to the New England Aquarium which Luke and Katelyn both enjoyed not quite as nice as Shedd though. Tuesday Auntie Cheryl and Deed took Katelyn to paint pottery and Jeff, Luke and I went to the Sam Adam's brewery tour. We all had fun. On Wednesday we took a drive to the Patriot's field where there are restaurants as well as outdoor ice skating. Katelyn was pretty excited about the chance to go ice skating. It was VERY cold! She and I were the two that went and my back is still a little sore from bending over to help her. She had a blast and was disappointed that we did not get to go longer. I told her though that we could go to Owen's Center when we got home and daddy would get on the ice too.

Cheryl and Mom made a great Thanksgiving meal. And we all took the standard Thanksgiving naps.

Luke had started walking on Friday before we left so he had a lot of fun at Auntie Cheryl's and enjoyed having more people around to take him wherever he wanted to go - down stairs, up stairs, out doors, in doors. He is a pointer and grunter. And he is a talker!! Not sure where either he and Katelyn got it (Auntie Cheryl I think).

We had lots of fun and Katelyn is planning next year's visit already. Adam and Cheryl may have recovered by then.
